We recognize the increasing prevalence of mental illness in America, and we offer a solution that empowers individuals to take part in a healing process that may have previously been out of reach. “Hi my name is Marisa,
I have two very important jobs, I am a single mother to two beautiful teenage daughters and a South Florida professional firefighter/ paramedic for 20 years. I love my life and my job but I suffer from chronic resistant depression. Back in 2019 I suffered a pulmonary embolism on duty. It shifted my daily work from operations to a restrictive duty position. This event and shift in my career took a physical and mental toll on me.
My daughters also suffer from a psychiatric condition. They were properly diagnosed in 2022 after staying 14 days in a mental health facility. Traumatic events of sexual assault at their high school had triggered both of them. They are being treated and are doing much better however my depression persists.
It wasn’t until meeting the doctors and administration at Tristar Wellness that I began to know what relief feels like. Everyone at Tristar has become a friend, they have looked after me since the moment I started getting treatment. When the Ketamine Lounge opened, I had my first true experience of depression relief. Ketamine plus intensive therapy is like magic that I can’t truly explain. The best description I can think of is a paradigm shift of perspective. Life doesn’t change but it does; problems don’t go away but they do.
